FSDA - Ghana has identified the following challenges and  has elaborated strategies to meet them
•    Inadequate infrastructure and facilities to ensure basic primary health care
•    Chronic diseases and inadequate general and mental health services and lack of access to affordable medicines for major ailments such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis
•    Chronic deficiency in food and infant mal-nutrition and infant mortality
•    Natural disasters such as floods, drought, de-forestation and environmental degradation
•    Chronic deficiency in agricultural production, storage, preservation and marketing
•    Lack of social services for the poor and rural communities
•    Lack of educational and training opportunities for the girl-child; need for gender equality, equal opportunity and economic empowerment of women
•    Lack of adequate attention to the boy child
•    Youth unemployment
